MEET OUR SPORTS MEDICINE LIAISON
ANTHONY BUONAMICI, ATC
As sports medicine outreach liaison, Anthony connects athletes of all ages in the community with injury prevention information and specialty services offered by AMITA Health.
He completed his undergraduate education at Aurora University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in athletic training and competed in NCAA D-III baseball during all four years. He also completed an extensive research project focusing on effective strategies for preventing shoulder and elbow injuries in throwing athletes.
Following his college education, Anthony was a work conditioning/workers’ compensation director for ATI Physical Therapy, working with a variety of injured workers in Chicago's southwest suburbs, creating individualized treatment plans to help the injured return to work. Before coming to AMITA Health, Anthony was also a worker’s compensation mentor for Athletico Physical Therapy, covering most of Illinois.
